Chris Ronson, Jr and Wayne Brown share a deep passion for Motorsposrts and all things speed. Chris & Wayne came together to create RB Motorsports Engineering and put their combined passion, shared knowledge, and automotive backgrounds together for the benefit of the clients and racing community. Chris & Wayne want to share what they love with everyone else.
Wayne has been part of the racing community since his childhood. When your Father was a Firestone race tire engineer in the 60's, it's natural for you to do something like that. At a young age (7) sweeping floors at Stimola Racing, it was the start of a career. Getting a chance to prepare a Swift FF-1600 at the age of 13, Wayne was hooked. He Prepared everything from FF to Formula Atlantic and even had the opportunity to work on a March Indy Light for Chip Ganassi Racing that was driven by Johnny O'Connell who ended up winning the very last race for that chassis at Laguna Seca. After that, Wayne was given the chance by Ted Wenz to prepare his McRae F-5000 car. Along with that, came the chance to learn about different engines from around the world. Everything from 4 cylinder Ford engines to priceless V-12 Ferrari's. "Enjoying every minute of work is what I pride myself in, and I am looking forward to this new experience as a shop owner with The Ronson's."
Chris Jr has also been a part of the racing community since his childhood, but not on the car or engine prep side. Chris Jr grew up at the race track watching his parents race everything from Formula Ford to ACRL, MASTER's F1, and Grand-Am. Chris Jr started racing in 2008 in his mother's vintage FF, and in his 1st season racing finished 3rd in points with HSR West. Chris Jr's racing has since progressed from FF to modern GT cars and now prototypes including IMSA Lites & LMPC cars. He was the 2020 SARRC P1 Champion and finished the 2021 HSR season as the Group 6 2nd place and BRM Enduro 3rd place victor for the season. Chris continues to push himself to learn more about advanced driving techniques and craft from professional Colin Braun. Chris's passion for cars however goes beyond driving. His hands-on approach to work combined with his demand for high quality has led him to work on and maintain his personal car collection and his father's. Now with his own family, you'll often see his wife Christine, two daughters, and two dogs at the track to make it a full family experience.
Chris Sr started racing in the UK under the original Jim Russell Racing School at Snetterton and then raced a Lotus Formula Ford throughout England in 1969. After being back in the US for a number of years and getting the work and family life settled, Chris Sr later went on to found M&R Motorsports in Petaluma, Ca. During this time Chris and his wife Janice traveled and raced Formula Ford, Formula B, ACRL, MASTER's F1, and Grand-Am with their two children, Chris Jr and his older sister Stephanie. Being in Petaluma Chris was invited to race with The Racer's Group and also became one of the co-drivers for the Downing-Atlanta Mazda Kudzu program where he raced both the 3 rotor and 4 rotor variants for a few seasons. Chris Sr lead the way in 2001 in the 4 rotor to take the SRP class win at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and forever marked his name in the record books. In 2008, Chris Sr came out of driving retirement. He took this time to teach his vehicle setup knowledge from the driver's perspective as well as his race craft to Chris Jr while racing together in Formula Ford. A tradition they continue today.
